Definition

A passkey is a phishing-resistant digital credential stored on your device (or password manager) that signs you in with biometrics or a device PIN instead of a typed password.

Real-World Example

Signing into a site with Face ID or a fingerprint using a saved passkey avoids typing a password that could be stolen.
