Definition
IPv6 is the newer Internet Protocol with 128-bit addresses, designed to replace scarce IPv4 addresses and improve routing and autoconfiguration.
Real-World Example
A home router that shows addresses like 2001:db8::1 is using IPv6 alongside or instead of classic dotted IPv4 numbers.
