Definition
DKIM is an email authentication method that lets a domain digitally sign outbound messages so receivers can verify the mail was authorized and not altered in transit.
Real-World Example
A bank signs newsletters with DKIM; receiving servers check the DNS public key and are less likely to treat the mail as forged spam.
